ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Partnering with our R&D engineering and procurement teams, the Hardware Engineer, within the Component Engineering (CE) Shared Services, is dedicated to supporting product development through innovative design principles and strategic component selection.

The successful candidate will apply component engineering principles to deliver cost efficiency and superior products, rapidly adapting to critical situations; and is tasked with the critical mission of enhancing product margins, driving productivity, ensuring compliance, and maintaining our competitive edge in the global market throughout the product lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review the current electronic board design considering the current technologies in terms of components, materials & processes, propose ideations to reduce BoM cost and support its lifecycle by redesign & optimization.

  • Perform component and product level qualification – Provide change description, develop test plans and instructions to make sure the alternative component(s) will satisfy all requirements and final product performance meets the specification.

  • Perform a key role in obsolescence and shortage management. Select components and materials, using appropriate component selection tools and strategies.

  • Build and test prototypes, identify issues, and follow up on corrective actions. Using design and validation processes (i.e. functional and automated tests) and tools (i.e. Jira).

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/hardware engineering, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years professional experience in electronics product development/validation.
