Job Title: Finance IT Delivery Manager

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Role Purpose

Reporting into Finance IT, support the Finance business function globally, partnering with the Finance functional stakeholders, on all aspects of technical delivery, through a combined portfolio of technical projects and business led projects that have technical deliverables, aligning to IT, Finance, and wider business strategy.

You will additionally bring your experience and expertise of building effective relationships with business and IT stakeholders for the management of IT business as usual services, with end to end service ownership. The role is to ensure successful deployment of technical deliverables, covering both projects and in-life changes and enhancements to existing products and services, working cross-functionally, not just Finance, as some projects and requests initiate in commercials teams that require financial changes as part of their delivery.

Within IT you will co-ordinate and work collaboratively across the technical teams, covering Architecture, Infrastructure, Engineering, Application Support and Service Desk, as well as IT Security and IT Governance, in the planning of future and current project demand of Finance projects and changes, securing resources, and providing technical documentation and briefings.

Key Accountabilities

Corporate

  • Work with the functional Finance stakeholders and IT colleagues to ensure services are integrated at the point of delivery.

  • Shape and influencing the architecture and solution designs in alignment with the strategic technological roadmap.

  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams to enable the breaking down of functional and regional barriers and encourage the concept of global delivery.

  • Raise IT performance by contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Promote a positive image of IT and represent IT in attending and presenting at workshops, business conferences, seminars as may be required.

  • Provide professional advice to business and other managers on relevant areas of service delivery, ensuring compliance with the IT organisation’s standards.

  • Actively contribute to the achievement of all of Travelex's business and IT priorities.

Functional

  • Take responsibility for IT delivery across the Finance function, including ownership of the Finance change agenda between the business and the technology teams.

  • Work closely with vendors, partners, and service providers, of Finance Products/Applications, to ensure they meet and deliver to expectation/SLA.

  • Collaborate with business leaders and other service users on the governance of Finance IT.

  • Manage the implementation of global standards for information systems, security, and technology, and ensure these are adhered to.

  • Work collaboratively with the business to build the Travelex’s maturity in relation to the ownership, effective use and security of data and data sources. · Maintain and demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of IT by reporting on IT processes and by ensuring that strong project management practice is followed, and outcomes are met.

  • Manage relevant IT budgets in accordance with Travelex IT and financial guidelines, obtaining value for money and maximisation of income where applicable.

Demand Management & Planning

  • Work to ensure business requirements are accurately reflected in Travelex’s IT Strategy and senior decision-makers are aware of the opportunities presented by investment in IT.

  • Provide proactive advice and responses to business and IT leadership and IT Service Managers on IT issues including technological solutions to business needs.

  • Capture, manage and prioritise a demand pipeline of planned and unplanned business demands, ensure that the business receive a responsive service from IT.

  • Build/maintain Finance IT Roadmaps that translate business strategy into deliverable projects and enhancements.

  • Provide IT input, especially resource plans, into Business Cases, working with key stakeholders and Project owners for submission to the Travelex Investment Committee. End to End Service Management

  • Understand business issues or concerns and work with the appropriate areas in IT to ensure successful resolution.

  • Ensure that the appropriate resources are utilised, the business is regularly informed and that the consequences of any actions clearly understood.

  • Initiate and/or manage Service Improvement Plans. Relationships and Communication

  • Build, own, and develop the IT/Finance relationship, including guiding project stakeholders through IT project delivery frameworks and methodologies.

  • Form strong, positive working relationships at all levels across Finance globally.

  • Build equivalent relationship with key managers and leaders in IT.

  • Provide regular updates/reports covering key project, financial, service updates, and business improvement opportunities that could be realised through technology.

  • Actively communicate and seek feedback from colleagues and customers. · Participate in Team Briefing like IT Town Halls.

  • Ensure feedback to line manager outlining activities of role and ‘how we are doing’. People Management (potential)

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to any direct reports, ensuring each employee’s role responsibilities are clearly defined.

  • Manage day to day objectives and tasks.

  • Provide them with support to develop their skills.

  • Holding regular one to one meetings.

  • Set goals/objectives and hold performance reviews in-line with Travelex’s Performance Management process.

Experience and Personal Qualities

  • You must be an experienced Portfolio Manager, Finance Systems Manager, Senior Business Analyst/Lead, or Programme Manager, with a proven track record of managing a range of technicalprojects (business and technology change). You will have worked in a wide variety of business and technical environments, and possess the ability required to deal with stakeholders at a senior level, with significant experience of:

  • Looking after an IT/business agenda of various day-to-day IT tasks affecting the business and the delivery of technical projects.

  • First-hand experience and knowledge of IT project delivery methodologies

  • Establishing credible and lasting relationships within IT and business stakeholders.

  • Building consensus around change, influencing multiple IT/business stakeholders, and managing conflicting agendas.

  • Understanding the business priorities and context, translating requirements into actionable deliverables, and driving them to completion.

  • Knowledge of both SaaS and on-premises Finance products/applications e.g., Oracle ERP/EPM, Blackline, IT2 Treasury Management, Lease Accounting and Taxation.

  • Line management experience of Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Technical SMEs.
