Overview

CHI St Alexius is hiring an Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for weekend coverage at Garrison Memorial Hospital , critical access facility. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and gain valuable experience treating patients of all ages in a dynamic emergency room setting.

Opportunity :

  • Join a team that consists of 1 physician and 4 APPs covering the following:

  • ​ED consults, triage, and medical care supported by Avel eCare telemedicine

  • IP hospital: Round, admit, and manage health needs of patients with a significant range of complex and co-morbid disease conditions

  • Unrestricted call/call back 8am Friday to 8am Monday or occasional holiday coverage

Qualifications :

  • Ability to obtain ND licensure

  • A Master's or Doctorate degree and certification by an accrediting body

  • Must have, or ability to obtain, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS

  • Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care and/or primary care with minimum of 2 years experience is preferred

CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison includes the services of a 22-bed critical access hospital, a 28-bed skilled nursing facility, an attached rural health clinic, and a newly remodeled Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. We offer many outpatient services, including physical therapy, radiology services, laboratory services, cardiac rehabilitation, and IV treatments. The hospital is equipped with 4 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services. CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison is a National Health Service Corps provider participant.

Responsibilities

Patient Care:

  • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

  • Provide clear and concise medical information.

  • Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

  • Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

  • Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Diagnostic Procedures:

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.

  • Perform procedures as needed

  • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

  • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Quality Improvement:

  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

  • Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.

  • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Compliance:

  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.

  • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.

  • Participate in ongoing medical education and training.

  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty

  • A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible

Pay Range

$62.58 - $69.17 /hour
