Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in a related field and two years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position. Must possess sufficient educational background and experience to begin clinical application analysis, support, and/or programming. Preferred Qualifications:
1-year experience preferred in customer service role
1-year experience preferred with Epic or EHR system
1-year experience preferred with technical troubleshooting
Able to work from home with reliable internet when needed
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing support and implementing technology solutions to resolveproblems with the EHR and other clinical products and applications. Clinical applications include anysoftware application used in support of the clinical enterprise including patient registration, patient billing,clinical documentation utilized in the ambulatory and inpatient settings, as well as applications for specificmedical specialties such as, but not limited to, Radiology, Pathology, Oncology, Transplant, andCardiology. This position is also responsible for modifying clinical applications/programs from detailedspecifications. Assists in providing solutions to routine problems utilizing more efficient operationalprocedures, workflows, and information technology solutions.
Job Duties:
This position is responsible for providing support and implementing technology solutions to resolve problems with the EHR and other clinical products and applications. Clinical applications include any software application used in support of the clinical enterprise including patient registration, patient billing, clinical documentation utilized in the ambulatory and inpatient settings, as well as applications for specific medical specialties such as, but not limited to, Radiology, Pathology, Oncology, Transplant, and Cardiology. This position is also responsible for modifying clinical applications/programs from detailed specifications. Assists in providing solutions to routine problems utilizing more efficient operational procedures, workflows, and information technology solutions
Provide end user support for the UTMB Electronic Medical Record System and other clinical systems on a 24/7 basis.
Respond to end-user support assistance for the UTMB Electronic Medical Record System via telephone, system shadowing application, or onsite at clinics or hospitals.
Assist end users with optimizing system functionality onsite in clinics and hospitals.
Assist in a classroom setting as a proctor or instructor.
Assist analysts with application and printer testing.
Assist with end-user support onsite for rollout and implementations delegated by leadership.
Demonstrate excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to self-motivate, prioritize work, and lead as well as work within a team.
Efficiently function in face-to-face communication or virtual environments with medical personnel.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Understanding of computers and office applications
Understanding of medical workflows and terminology
Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work productively remotely when needed.
Able to walk long distances between and within buildings.
Experience with an Electronic Health Record System is a positive attribute along with PC hardware/software knowledge.
Experience working in an IT Helpdesk environment utilizing remote support tools and a ticketing system.
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
Partial Remote, onsite as needed. M-F 8a-5p, Rotating 8-hour day shifts and rotating on-call support (nights, weekends, holidays).Must be willing/able to travel to hospital environments in Galveston, Angleton, Clear Lake, or League City as well as to clinic locations in Galveston, Harris, and Brazoria counties.
