TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES Corrections Officer- Deputy 1 in Galveston, Texas
Maintain the security of the facility by conducting security checks, settling disputes, and performing cell searches and inspections
Prepare and complete documentation of inmate records
Issue inmate meals, clothing, linens, and personal items
Supervise inmate programs including recreational, legal, healthcare, and visitation/religious services
Prepare reports on jail and inmate activities
Supervise inmates performing such assignments as cleaning and maintaining the jail facility
Continually observe locations and activities of inmates
Report any issues to your supervisor
Any other job duties designated by management
*Must be eligible for Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) upon hire
Background requirements: Candidates must pass a drug screen and background check. (Due to the nature of employer's business, company policy requires that candidates having criminal background will not be considered for employment.)
