Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic Production Manager who will lead a skilled group of employees to safely and efficiently produce the highest quality TPO roofing membranes in the industry. Continuous improvement, employee engagement and a direct communication style will be key.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and support all plant safety programs/initiatives. Maintain a culture where safety always takes priority over production. Ensure that all employees are well-trained to fully understand and follow safety rules/procedures. Provide above adequate protection for all employees against safety hazards.

  • Partner with the Leadership team to drive a positive employee experience in our plant. Provide the employees with the tools and support they need to be as effective and engaged as they can be while seeking out development opportunities.

  • Partner with the Quality Control group to ensure that the product consistently meets or exceeds all quality standards.

  • Partner with the Supply Chain group to understand customer requirements and deliver to their expectations, by producing the best quality product, when it is needed, to meet customer demands.

  • Set clear production goals and support the operations team in their efforts to achieve those goals. Production goals should focus on reducing waste and downtime while improving output and material yields.

  • Complete daily production reporting. Understand how to analyze the data for accuracy and to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Partner with the Accounting group to perform raw material and finished goods inventory cycle counts, making process improvements to improve accuracy and reliability.

  • Support a skilled staff of 20-30 machine operators by providing an environment that values our people. Provide clear direction, expectations, training and support to the departmental workforce. Drive accountability. Develop departmental work schedules that satisfy production requirements and the needs of our employees.

  • Become a technical resource for the production line, supporting troubleshooting efforts, identifying and leading efficiency improvement projects in addition to capital improvements.

  • Partner with the Maintenance and Engineering groups to align the support needed to troubleshoot machine problems, implement equipment and process improvement projects and to educate and train the machine operators as needed.

  • Coordinate with Technical Services and Engineering to ensure that the plant is operated within environmental permit requirements.

  • Develop, implement and track compliance to production department expense budgets. Control key cost elements to ensure achievement of budget spending goals.

  • Complete any other tasks as needed to ensure the continued, safe and efficient operation of the department.

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.

  • A minimum of Five years as a production supervisor in a heavy manufacturing environment, coupled with experience in a continuous process industry,Under This Roof, We Also Value
