Job Description

Objective:

Dynamic FEA Engineers are responsible for performing advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations and analyses to evaluate the dynamic behavior and performance of mechanical systems. This position will work closely with our engineering team to ensure the structural integrity, reliability, and performance optimization of our products and will work under limited supervision of Lead FEA Engineers. This candidate is deemed a potential expert in the domain.

Authorities:

Position has the authority organize FEA tasks, check analysis models and reports for accuracy and dependability. Recommend design changes to mitigate technical risk. Liaison with Lead certification and Design engineers for guidance on requirements and dates.

Main Function Responsibilities:

A) Oversee/monitor all design validation activity with respect to applicable requirements utilizing analytical process and testing as necessary.

B) Analyze design and test data to implement proper engineering approach into a design. Utilize FEA at to accomplish objective(s).

C) Implement analytical approach and help DV staff in establishing decent correlation with test data.

D) Perform necessary linear/non-linear static analysis and dynamic simulation.

E) Mentor the Design Validation Engineers and mold them per department requirement.

F) Work with design and certification engineers as well as with test laboratory to provide robust designs.

G) Must work closely with research and development department for future innovations.

H) Comply with Safran Seats USA procedures (QAP) and certification internal procedures.

I) Document all design validation work (including FEA) and maintain all material database.

J) Participate and support in new business development initiatives.

K) Provides leadership and technical guidance to design validation engineers and establishes best practices.

L) Ensures quality of model and analysis and on time completion.

M) Ensure that FEA models and simulations comply with industry standards, best practices, and customer requirements.

N) Analyze and interpret FEA results to identify potential design flaws, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Validate model with test and establish correlation

O) Develop and implement appropriate modeling techniques, boundary conditions, and material properties to accurately simulate real-world dynamic scenarios with no supervision.

P) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of design guidelines, testing protocols, and validation procedures.

Q) Collaborate with other business units simulation engineering team in Simulation improvements towards.

R) Generation and review, checking of comprehensive technical reports and presentations to communicate analysis findings, recommendations, and design modifications required.

S) Stay updated on the latest advancements in dynamic FEA methodologies, tools, and techniques, and apply them to enhance analysis capabilities and efficiency.

T) Maintains work load capacity for the design validation group.

U) Provides status and schedule updates to department head and other appropriate entities on a regular basis.

V) Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

A. Education & Qualification:

• Must have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering or related.

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering or related.

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge:

• With Masters degree the position requires 4 years of FEA related experience using LS-Dyna or Radioss. In addition, must have experience using Altair HyperWorks suite or ANSYS. Knowledge of NASTRAN or ANSYS is preferred

• With Bachelors degree the position requires 6 years of FEA related experience using LS-Dyna or Radioss. In addition, must have experience using Altair HyperWorks suite or ANSYS. Knowledge of NASTRAN or ANSYS is preferred.

C. Professional Skills:

• Must have a strong background in basic structural engineering such as free body diagrams and strength of materials.

• Must have broad understanding of finite element analysis and fatigue methods.

• Must have FEA experience using LS-Dyna or Radioss. In addition, must have experience using Altair HyperWorks suite. Experience with NASTRAN or ABAQUS is preferred.

• Knowledge of stochastic/statistical tools (DOE) and Optimization tools is preferred.

• Knowledge of composites is preferred.

• Knowledge of seat belt modeling is required

• Must be well-versed in understand the kinematic of hybrid II/III dummy model.

• Knowledge of topology along with weight and shape optimization using Opti-Struct is preferred.

• Must have strong mechanical aptitude.

• Must be able to communicate efficiently in writing and verbally.

• Must be able to operate standard office equipment.

• Must be able to generate technical reports.

• Must be willing to perform tests and some physical work at the test laboratory, as required.

• Basic ProE/CATIA skill is preferred.

• Knowledge of FAA (Part 25) and airframes manufacturer requirements is preferred but not mandatory.

• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as other business units and present analysis findings to stakeholders.

• Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

D. Behavioral Skills:

• Must be detail oriented and have sound engineering judgment.

• Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex FEA results and provide practical recommendations.

• Continuous learning mindset and a passion for staying updated on emerging trends and advancements in the field of dynamic FEA analysis

E. Desirable Aspects:

• Experience of FEA using LS-Dyna or Radioss, Altair HyperWorks suite tolos.

Specificity of the job

International and/or Domestic travel required; ales than 1 week per year
