Job Description:

The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track, full-time, position at the rank Lecturer, working title Instructional Assistant Professor in the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment.

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Teach the core course Hydrodynamics, the fundamental class in engineering fluid mechanics and a core requirement in the Civil Engineering BS curriculum. Total teaching commitment is expected to be four courses per year. Research in support of teaching may be included.

Expected Salary:

Salary to commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have experience in:

  • Teaching fluid mechanics and water resources engineering.

  • Hold a P.E. license or have the ability to become licensed within two to three years.

  • The appointment is expected to be at the Instructional Assistant Professor level but an appointment at a higher level will be considered commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
