Job Description:

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Florida (UF) is accepting applications for the position of Director, Research Administration, to lead its Research Administration Office through a period of significant expansion and beyond. The college is the heart of UF and home to the humanities, the social and behavioral sciences, and the physical, natural and mathematical sciences. It has over 800 faculty and receives over $40 million per year in funding from federal, state, and private sponsors. The Director of Research Administration will oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of a team of pre-award and post-award research administrators and fiscal processing and accounting staff. We seek an experienced Director who is attentive to prudent stewardship of sponsor resources in compliance with current best practices while fostering a culture of positive collaboration with faculty and staff in the wide variety of departments and centers served by the Research Administration Office. The successful candidate will report to the Associate Dean for Research and will work with university- and department-level offices to advance the UF’s research mission.

Expected Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and eight years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of contract and grant management at the university and federal levels

Knowledge of accounting principles

Knowledge of databases

Knowledge of accounting systems

Knowledge of payroll/personnel procedures

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Ability to provide direction and disseminate policy and procedure effectively
