Job Description:
The University of Florida is currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Admissions Officer II. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the review of undergraduate admissions applications, evaluating transfer credits, traveling to various educational institutions and events to promote the university, and providing general support to the Office of Admissions.
Key responsibilities include:
Application Review and Processing
Assist in the review of undergraduate admissions applications, with a focus on readmissions.
Evaluate transfer credits and secondary/post-secondary transcripts.
Assist with the freshman admissions process, including reading and scoring essays.
Monitor applicant progress and maintain application processing efficiency.
Meet with prospective and former students to discuss application status and provide guidance.
Outreach and Recruitment
Travel to high schools, community colleges, and college fairs across Florida, which includes the use of a state vehicle and driving long distances on occasion.
Conduct on-campus information sessions and provide admissions counseling.
Interact with key stakeholders including faculty, department staff, alumni, and elected officials to facilitate the application process.
Participate in recruitment activities and events to attract prospective students.
Other Duties
Participate in conferences and professional development training to maintain a high level of professional competence.
Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.
This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.
Expected Salary:
$53,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work and communicate across a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
Ability to present in front of large audiences
Ability to exercise good judgment and work with minimal supervision
Strong organizational and time management skills
