We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Business Development Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in keeping daily contact with our database of brokers and shippers, while also constantly monitoring the online load boards looking for freight and making lasting connections with new brokers and shippers to regularly receive freight from them. Must have basic knowledge of LTL and freight industry.
Duties
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and shippers to facilitate freight movement.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to secure competitive pricing for clients.
- Utilize logistics sales techniques to identify new business opportunities and expand the client base.
- Manage the entire freight process from order placement to delivery, ensuring all parties are informed throughout.
- Coordinate dispatching activities and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, communications, and shipment details.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to optimize inventory management and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse environment.
- Facilitate communication between departments to streamline processes and resolve issues.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse or supply chain environment is preferred.
- Minimum one year of transportation industry experience and transportation logistics is a plus.
- Proficiency in using systems for order processing and inventory management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
