Schedule: This position will be expected to work a hybrid schedule in Fridley, MN.

A Day in the Life

The Quality Engineer II – Chemistry will be an individual contributor with responsibility in technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. The position will formulate, deliver and/or manage projects assigned and work with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.

  • Collaborate with Global Laboratory Services and Physiological Research Laboratory functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • Lead laboratory investigations, root cause analysis and nonconformance reports

  • Perform audits and provide audit support.

  • Approval of protocols, reports, and testing results.

  • Identify efficiencies and simplifications in quality processes.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0+ years of experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry or related field

  • Previous quality management system experience including root cause analysis, non-conformances and CAPA.

  • Previous experience with internal and external audits as well as conducting internal audits. CQA certification is preferred.

  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 and 21 CFR Part 58 is preferred.

  • Experience with ICP-MS, GCMS, LCMS, ionic testing, FTIR, SEM, destructive analysis / metallography testing, and ethylene oxide residual testing preferred.

  • Experience with Labware LIMS, electronic lab notebooks, MAP Agile, and Trackwise preferred.

  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approach to solutions.

  • Experience managing projects / processes, as well as coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level specialists.

  • Ability to work collaboratively, exchange information of facts, statuses, ideas and issues to achieve objective, and influence decision-making.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
