Description
We are looking for a talented Product Compliance and Certification Engineer – Hazardous Location Technical Specialist to join our team specializing in environment for our corporate business in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Ensure all environmental regulations and standards are adhered to, impacting company products, processes, components, or facilities.
Apply specialized knowledge of engineering and project management principles to complex components or projects under minimal supervision for regulatory compliance efforts and other applicable programs.
Participate as a key contributor and be accountable for the success of cross-functional projects involving various stakeholders.
Analyze and communicate environmental compliance information to internal stakeholders, establish, and facilitate meetings and trainings on compliance.
Lead small projects or portions of large projects, working with subject matter experts to improve environmental performance or compliance processes and identify opportunities for common processes and tools.
Support in defining and executing corrective actions for compliance issues.
Communicate with and influence key external stakeholders and business leaders, escalating compliance issues as necessary.
Assist with the transfer of knowledge, coaching, and mentoring less experienced compliance personnel.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Leverage environmental topics and trends related to air, exhaust, water, waste, sustainability, and materials; use environmental data to solve problems and understand business impact.
Analyze technical and legal documents to define business requirements; work with subject matter experts and business units to develop strategies and plans for compliance.
Champion compliance with environmental regulatory requirements across local, state, provincial, national, and international organizations.
Make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
Education/Experience
A Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant compliance experience in an industrial manufacturing business
Intermediate level of relevant work experience is required. Experience across organizations and global regions is preferred. Knowledge of the function being worked in is preferred.
Additional Details:
Experience in hazardous location and/or industrial equipment.
Familiar with Hazloc standards (IEC 60079 series), the IECEx Scheme, the ATEX Directive and North American certification process and division standards
At least 5-7 years of professional experience in a comparable function
As a Hazloc Technical specialist, you will work on a variety of projects and provide high quality compliance requirements and certification services
You'll have the ability to interpret standards, follow processes and procedures, as well as provide technical guidance
You will have the opportunity to work with Electrolyzer/Fuel Cell/Energy storage battery system/Fuel deliver systems products build and shipped across the globe, to assist in certifying the products where you will review samples, drawings, schematics and reports to ensure complete safety compliance
Manage certification projects concurrently ensuring compliance with all applicable safety requirements
Achieve completion of projects within time frames and quality standards
Liaise with project team to ensure requirements of national/ international standards are accurately identified
Assist in determining applicable requirements, test and standards
Assist in determining sample requirements for testing
Demonstrates understanding of the process and accreditation requirements of reports and certification documents
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
Base salary range: $96,000 - $144,000
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
