WestRock Company Machine Operator lll in Fresno, California

EESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe machine operation to ensure quality and conformity of package material.

  • Perform weekly, monthly, and annual PMs

  • Perform and support changeover of forming machines

  • Perform minor adjustments and tooling changes to ensure proper folding and bonding (wire, glue and gluer)

  • Replaced, rebuild, and repair any defective parts

  • Perform major repairs (but not limited to shafts, bearing, feed roller and phase exchanger)

  • Collaborate and work with Reliability on various repairs

  • Manage and reorder parts for forming department in a timely manner

  • Manage and own tools supplied by Company on a regular basis, up to daily inspections

  • Monitor, change, standardize glue tote including viscosity checks

  • Observe and build capability on operator adjustments with forming operators

  • Obtain a good knowledge and understanding of all equipment in the forming department

  • Ensure machines output meets department production goals.

  • Perform housekeeping duties to ensure department and company standards are maintained.

  • Perform LOTO when task requires.

  • Performs any other tasks trained for and assigned by lead person and supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or G.E.D.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic Math skills required. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides whole numbers, fraction, and decimals. Able to convert fraction to decimal equivalent.

MECHANICAL SKILLS: Basic understanding of Machinery & processes.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, write & understand basic English. Able to communicate effectively, get along with coworkers & management and deal effectively & professionally under pressure.

REASONING ABILITY: Job requires making decisions based on established guidelines regarding running or shutting down on defective work and operational problems/difficulties of all kinds.

ATTENDANCE: Accrued attendance points must be below 5.

  • Minimal 8 hr. shift schedule with some overtime.

  • Occasional overhead lifting.

  • Required to stand & walk continually.

  • Occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling 20 to 50 lbs. (Up to 10 times a hour)

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling & reaching
