Boehringer Ingelheim Sr Specialist, Business Systems Analyst in Fremont, California

As part of the site EMS&D (EMS & Digitalization) team supports the assessment, implementation, utilization, and support of business systems at BI's Biopharma site in Fremont, California. This is a multi-disciplinary role that combines basic process knowledge in biopharmaceutical operations, with system-technical and process data knowledge. It assists business functions at the Fremont site in identifying opportunities where digital solutions can lead to improvements in business processes through increased speed and efficiency and sees them through to implementation.As an employee of Boehringer Ingelheim, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development, and delivery of our products to our patients and customers. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Acts as SME on computer systems of small to medium complexity.

  • Supports functional users with system adaptations and utilization of capabilities.

  • Supports needs analysis, configuration, testing, and rollout activities.

  • Performs operational support in conjunction with IT and other stakeholders.

  • Leads small to medium complexity computer system implementation and lifecycle projects and product deliverables per project requirements, including upgrades and enhancements, as well as new feature adaptations in business processes, including system validation activities as required.

  • Identifies and drives opportunities for continuous improvement using computer systems by combining systems and business process knowledge.

  • Role has direct impact in the compliance and efficiency of the manufacture of biologic medicines. Leads small project teams of up to 5 team cross-functional team members.

  • Regular cross-functional and global collaboration with BI sites in Biberach and Vienna, and other BI sites as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in IT-related field, Math or Science with Minimum 3 years of experience managing computer system implementations and support in a complex business environment OR Bachelor's plus 2 years of experience OR Master's plus 1 year experience.

  • Desired experience with MES, LIMS, SAP, Lab Automation, or other production systems. MS Office, including Teams and SharePoint. Database systems/SQL. Programming skills.

  • Basic data skills (database systems, SQL) and desire to learn (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SAP I, R, SAS, Simca)

  • Experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Basic project management skills.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent people skills.

  • Required the ability to independently work with cross-functional team members in the implementation and support of digital solutions and business process improvements. Combines knowledge of digital solutions with business process knowledge to aid in the advancement of the business.

  • Understanding and application of system-related compliance requirements, including GMPs, validation, and data integrity.

  • Ability to understand, extract, and utilize data from various data sources for business process understanding and improvement.
