Project Controls - Estimator
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a Project Controls - Estimator for our PCI EPC Project Mgmt Dept. The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full-time at a location other than a POWER-designated office/job site.
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
• Estimating EPC/Design-Build Transmission Line, Substation, and Distribution projects.
• Work with Project Management in identifying work sequences and constraints that affect project delivery and cost.
• Work with Project Management to develop bid schedules and bid packages for vendors and subcontractors.
• Adapt to and promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships.
• Work with project teams in a matrixed reporting environment.
• Work with Project Management and Proposal Development to ensure work scope in proposals and in estimates are aligned.
Required Education/Experience
• 2+ years of experience in transmission line, substation and/or distribution construction estimating.
• Must have a good understanding of estimating principles.
• Experience using industry standard estimating platforms.
Desired Education/Experience
• 5+ years of experience in transmission line, substation and distribution estimating is preferred ranging in voltages from 12.5kV to 500kV
• Experience with ConEst IntlliBid software
• Experience in estimating and assembling proposals for transmission line, substation and/or distribution projects.
• Experience developing vendor and subcontractor bid schedules and bid packages.
• Project Management experience
• Familiarity with scheduling techniques and software, P6 and Project.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work with a matrix environment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
