WSP USA CAD Civil Designer in Fredericton, New Brunswick

The Opportunity:

WSP is seeking an intermediate to senior CAD Civil Designer Technician to join our Earth & Environment digital design team in Ontario or Atlantic region. This role consists of working with multi-discipline project teams, managing your own project tasks and providing technical and engineering design support on a wide variety of unique projects locally and around the world. You will be part of a global technical community of drafting, design and BIM practitioners that collaborate, innovate, build enduring relationships, excel, and grow professionally in a strong culture of ownership. What you can expect to do here:

  • You'll be collaborating with multi-discipline project teams consisting of scientists, engineers, and consultants; understanding the project scope, budget and schedule and managing the design component of the project deliverable accordingly

  • You'll be providing advanced 3D modeling and design analysis to support a wide variety of unique, large-scale, multi-discipline projects collaborating with colleagues locally and in offices around the world

  • Perform advanced/complex calculations, apply results to design for optimum results, identify potential design issues and provide alternative solutions

  • Preparing engineering drawings for conceptual, tender, construction and as-built deliverables

  • You'll be managing your own workload commitments by following an established workflow and data management process

  • Responsible for quality assurance and control with adherence to global company standards, processes and best practices

  • Supervise, train and mentor of junior and intermediate employees

  • Continuous knowledge sharing, training and mentoring to develop your skills and develop your career

  • Active participant in a global technical community of like-minded practitioners

What you'll bring to WSP:

  • A Technician or Technology Diploma or equivalent preferably in the disciplines of civil engineering, mining, geotechnical, environmental or ground engineering

  • At least 5-9 years (Intermediate) or 10+ years (Senior) of relevant experience, advanced knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering design principles using Civil 3D modeling application (mandatory)

  • A detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to following a prescribed set of global company standards, processes and best practices
