To lead the Expeditors facility in the pursuit of Warehouse Excellence by promoting a culture of safety and security in a facility that is modern, efficient and meets high quality standards through continuous improvement. Manages activities of workers concerned with providing work orders & inventory records for distribution accounts. The distribution manager also seeks new distribution services opportunities and cooperates with sales to turn new opportunities into profitable business.
Tasks and Duties:
Managing and coaching the Warehouse staff
Conducting weekly team / huddle with Warehouse staff
Conducting monthly 1-on-1’s with Warehouse Supervisor
Review and conduct staff appraisals and one to one meeting timely in line with the 3+1 Initiative
Set annual improvement objectives for Warehouse Operations
Execution of District Tactical Business Plan
Ensure a safe and secure work environment
Maintain Expeditors warehouse & IOC procedures, safety and compliance standards
Maintain a clean and professional facility
Ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe operational condition including the required maintenance contract
Prepare and manage budget for warehouse operations weekly/monthly/annually, includes staffing and overtime expenses, equipment procurement and maintenance, and facility repair
Responsible for warehouse excellence success and KPIs
Support product with checking local charges and agreement quotes to ensure we minimize potential branch losses
Attend the weekly branch Sales meeting and facilitate discussions on market updates and trends
Take an active role in the transition of new business/ updates to existing business.
Manage department PnL
Ability to work flexible schedule at times as business needs dictate
Other tasks/duties as deemed appropriate by your management team
3+ years of related industry experience
Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word etc.)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven negotiation skills
Excellent organizational skills, time management skills in addition to a professional manner
A proven history of providing exceptional customer service at all levels
Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
