MACON PROGRAM FOR PROGRESS INC Head Start Lead Teacher in Franklin, North Carolina
Head Start Lead Teacher Full time, 12 month
POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating the activities of a Head Start classroom/center in accordance with the policies, procedures, and philosophy of Macon Program for Progress Board, Policy Council, NCDCDEE, and Administration for Children and Families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education or equivalent, required.
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- SPII BK licensure, preferred.
- One to two years experience working with children, preferred.
- Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification, required within the first 6 weeks of hired date.
- CDL, required or willingness and ability to obtain.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, sort correspondence and memos.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to establish and maintain secure trusting relationship with children by meeting physical, emotional and cognitive learning needs.
- Ability to obtain and understand Head Start Performance Standards.
- Ability to implement a developmentally appropriate research-based early childhood curricula.
- Understanding of health and safety practices ensuring that children are safe at all times.
- Ability to plan and implement weekly lesson plans for the classroom.
- Ability to design and implement planned activities to promote learning within the regular daily routines and other integrated service area activities per the Program Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to provide guidance and training to the classroom Teacher, Classroom Assistants, Substitutes and Volunteers.
