Job Description
This role ensures that all manufactured products meet or exceed customer expectations and ARP Quality requirements. The manager assumes a leadership role in reinforcing and adhering to established company quality standards and specifications, validating quality throughout the production process. Manages and directs the quality department in compliance with relevant federal regulations, customer expectations and Amcor standards. Supervises activities relating to inspection, laboratory testing, auditing, and process control within a large sized plant with high complexity. Also responsible for implementing, maintaining and modifying the plants quality management system to improve business operating systems and to meet the requirements of customers and best practice audits. Oversees validations of new product, qualifications on plant equipment, inspection, laboratory testing, statistical process control and corrective action with a mindset of continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Owner, Expert, Executor, and Teacher of the Amcor Quality Management System to local management teams and staff
Serves both the plants and corporate Quality function, to ensure transparency and to get timely and solid guidance from corporate
Designs, implements and directs the Quality Assurance program for the plant, including but not limited to plant management responsibilities, and document and data control; expert at the plant level on product characteristics and performance
Advocates to corporate groups when products require improvement
Representative to the Customer on Quality and product performance matters at the plant level; advocates for Amcor in representing Amcor products and systems to local customers
Serves as a primary contact with customers in the event of CINS (Customer Incidents), leads internal product performance investigation, and implements corrective and preventative actions. Drives resolution to conclusion and systematically improves product and system quality
Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other pla ts to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
Inspects incoming purchased or customer-supplied materials, work-in-process material, rework materials and finished goods; assures the required level of quality through visual inspection, statistical sampling and laboratory testing of materials; ascertains the reasons for nonconforming materials
Establishes, monitors, and maintains statistical process control (SPC) programs; advises and instructs local managers in utilization of SPC data
Ensure all testing requirements are met per corporate standards
