(Apex offers weekly pay)Project Description: Plans, conducts, and coordinates the application of state-of-the-art information processing techniques in the analysis, design, and implementation of software systems technical support and operating system development. Tasks are of a complex nature. May act as team or project leader on major software design and development projects.Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:Monitor system performance identifying root causes for performance issues and make recommendations to management and MaaS provider.Coordinate proposed changes with the MaaS provider and COT employees.Coordinates and communicates system outages.Attend weekly meetings and be part of the Change control board.Develop operational standards; provide technical assistance to application developers and operations personnel.Design, implementation and customization of various mainframe technology solutions.Development and implementation of standards and procedures of various mainframe technical solutions.Interact with customer and provide regular management reports / analysis.Assist in WLM tuning and Sysplex activities.Experience in Storage and Backup.This individual will serve as the main point of contact between:our outsourced mainframe provider’s system programming team, management, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.COT and software/hardware vendorsinternal and external agencies to respond to mainframe inquiresapplication developers for application and system troubleshootingto coordinate system upgrades and maintenance with Kyndryl and COTSelling Points for Candidates:100% remoteRequirements:Five years working in an MVS or z/OS IBM mainframe environment.
