We are currently looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager in Fort Worth, Texas. As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you will lead, manage, and support projects and supervise a team of lean facilitators involved in process improvements using Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and project management methodologies to achieve business goals.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work together with Operations leadership team to develop the long term and short-term business strategy through Value Stream Mapping, then monitor performance of the business objectives and improvements in key metrics. Sponsoring the use of data and lean manufacturing tools to drive continuous improvement.

  • Directing, motivating, and developing staff, maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth, and ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.

  • Scoping, facilitating and sponsoring kaizen events and workshops such as 7 Alternatives, Value Stream Mapping, VA/VE, and SMED, using a DMAIC process to drive continuous improvement throughout the business.

  • Tracking financial results and reports on quantifiable goals and objectives; estimating future projects from financial, throughput, lead-time, and on-time performance improvements to assist in the prioritization of projects.

  • Training and mentoring employees; educating personnel on Lean and Six Sigma methodology and identifying the best projects for implementation.

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.Level Working Knowledge:

  • Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem and determining its significance.

  • Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fishbone diagrams, 8D, 5 Why, etc. to identify root cause and develop corrective actions.

  • Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.Level Working Knowledge:

  • Identifies and documents specific problems, root cause and corrective actions.

  • Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder.

  • Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information.

  • Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.

  • Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.

  • Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products, and services.Level Working Knowledge:

  • Leads continuous improvement activities such as kaizen events and workshops.

  • Defines the critical workflow for executing key improvement processes.

  • Identifies process problems that limit performance.

  • Implements methods for improving and establishing controls for critical processes.

  • Focuses on the most significant problems to maximize efficiency gains.

  • Surfaces systemic problems to be addressed at the organizational level.

  • Six Sigma Methodology: Knowledge of the concepts of Six Methodology; ability to use the methodology to improve the processes and procedures and control the improvements by eliminating root causes.Level Working Knowledge:

  • Analyzes business priorities for selecting potential critical metrics.

  • Uses tools to measure historical performance.

  • Resolves routine problems in a cost-effective manner.

  • Reports deviances from process improvements.

  • Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness.Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

  • Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
