**Program Administration Specialist

Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:We are currently seeking a full-time and onsite Program Administration Specialist in University Research and Innovation. The Program Administration Specialist is responsible for administering Purdue Fort Waynes research events and internal research award competitions, on behalf of University Research and Innovation in the Office of Academic Affairs. The salary for this position is $46,800 annually.

Primary Responsibilities:**

  • Coordinate, direct, and supervise annual research events e.g. Student Research and Creative Endeavors Symposium, Outstanding Research Award, workshops for faculty researchers, and other events.
  • Plan, implement, and manage internal research award competitions e.g. summer faculty, senior summer faculty, collaborative, undergraduate summer research, and other competitions.
  • Collaborate with the Director of University Research and Innovation to develop, implement, and maintain research policies, processes, and procedures for the University.
  • Supervise, communicate, and coordinate graduate students in the Universitys Student Research Hub, who support faculty and student research e.g. statistical consulting and other services.
  • Continually assess program and implement changes to increase program effectiveness.
  • Direct undergraduate and graduate students to research support opportunities.
  • Recruit undergraduate and graduate students (presentations) and faculty/staff (judges) to participate in research events e.g. Universitys Student Research and Creative Endeavors Symposium.
  • Facilitate communications and foster relationships with internal and external constituents.
  • Support and coordinate general administration for the research units in the Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of University Research and Innovation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree.
  • 2 years of relevant, professional experience. Relevant experience may include but not limited to event planning and promotion, program coordination or facilitation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail in a deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently and excellent problem-solving and judgment skills.
  • Strong ability to plan and work ahead.
  • Willingness to work in a changing environment.
  • Excellent public relations skills, with the ability to address and engage with groups of people when necessary.
  • Ability to build work relationships among a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent computer and related software skills e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database, data inquiry, internet, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical knowledge of Purdue Fort Wayne programs through experience or advanced education e.g. employee, former employee, or a graduate of the University
