Community Health Systems Applications Analyst I in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Job Summary

The Application Analyst I provides front line support for Information Technologies (IT) used across the health system. This position is responsible for collaborating with IT teams, assists in providing application configuration support, testing, implementation, and training to enhance clinical, financial and administrative applications, operational efficiencies, patient safety, security and compliance, and departmental work flow needs.

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoots application errors and works with senior analysts or developers to resolve them.

  • Responsible for monitoring the performance and availability of applications to ensure effective and optimal results by the use of monitoring tools used to detect and respond to system alerts.

  • Assists users in navigating applications and resolving basic usage issues by providing training or documentation to help users understand application features.

  • Resolves, logs and tracks issues in ticketing systems, ensuring all incidents are documented and resolved promptly, escalating issues as needed.

  • Assists in configuring applications according to user needs and organizational requirements. Assists with the deployment of updates, patches, and new versions of applications.

  • Performs testing of application updates and new features to ensure they work as expected, escalating any issues or bugs during testing to ensure a quality product.

  • Performs data analysis and reporting as needed.

  • Maintains documentation related to application configurations, troubleshooting steps, and common user queries. Updates user guides and manuals.

  • Ensures applications comply with security standards and organizational policies. Assist in implementing security measures, such as user access controls and data protection protocols.

  • Assists with change management, including but not limited to, managing application changes, including planning, testing, and deployment. Ensures that all changes are documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.

  • Ability to work various shifts as needed, including during system go lives or major upgrades.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred

  • 0-1 years of Technical Support or Help Desk experience and IT tools like SNOW, Jira etc. required

  • 1-2 years of experience in software or application support or development providing support for basic and specific software applications or systems, with exposure to ERP systems, CRM tools, or any related business-critical applications preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, complaint management, or technical guidance preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience with basic system administration tasks or working knowledge of operating systems Windows, Linux, ERP or EMR preferred

  • Ability to critically assess projects.

  • Ability to provide analytic support across departments.

  • Ability to work with multiple team members simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of the software life cycle: design, development, testing, and deployment.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Aptitude for learning new technologies.

  • Ability to work various shifts during system go lives or major upgrades.
