Nestle Senior Product Quality Assurance Manager in Fort Smith, Arkansas

POSITION SUMMARY:

Develop, implement, and maintain Quality and Food Safety processes to assure our products meet or exceed Nestle Standards, regulatory guidelines and customer & consumer expectations within the Fort Smith factory. Provides technical expertise and support to ensure compliance to NIMS requirements, federal and international regulations, product quality, and food safety. Utilizes tools such as auditing, process evaluation, trend analysis to achieve continuous improvement and business objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, establish, implement, and update audit procedures, test procedures, control plans, raw material inspections, in –process operations, finished goods, shipping audits, internal self-audits, equipment validation/calibration and vendor audits and certifications.

  • Provide leadership and assistance in problem solving efforts in areas of GMP’s, Quality, and Food safety and process improvement programs.

  • Analyse statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and guarantee, quality, food safety and reliability objectives of finished product.

  • Work with and assure compliance with outside regulatory agencies.

  • Implement and support processes that will provide development opportunities for people and drive accountability. Create an environment that will support innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Support Nestle Programs and Policies including affirmative action goals and commitments, HSE Strategies and Corporate Citizenship initiatives.

  • Promote Quality and Food Safety culture, standards and awareness across the factory.

SUPERVISION GIVEN:

  • Leads team of 5-10 quality professionals and indirect leadership for 25 – 30 subordinate team members.

  • Has frequent interaction and collaborative work with all factory departments, corporate offices and local USDA officials, occasional interaction with other external agencies, offices.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor's (BA or BS) in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field is required; Masters’ degree is desirable.

  • Employee must support and comply with all Nestlé programs and policies, including, affirmative action goals and commitments, SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) strategies, corporate citizenship initiatives, NCE (Nestle Continuous Excellence), TPM (Total Performance Management), GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Safety Policies to ensure employee safety and product quality. Employee must meet all requirements related to NIMS (Nestle Integrated Management System) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards for Quality, Food Safety, Environmental Compliance and Occupational Health and Safety.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years in a similar role in a manufacturing environment is required with a career path demonstrating continuous progression; prior experience in managing others strongly preferred.

  • Experience applying continuous improvement is desirable.

SKILLS:

  • Superior verbal and written communication, leadership and planning skills are required.

  • Able to understand and to clarify complex problems.

  • Knowledge of state and federal employment law and applications
