We have an exciting opportunity open for a Construction Technician I based in Fort Smith, AR.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Construction employees participate in an on-call schedule assigned by seniority. This position will require occasional after-hours and weekend overtime hours
\
The job consists of general pipeline construction work including, but not limited to:
\
Shoveling, Hand digging, Raking
Assisting the welder with both steel welds and plastic fusion
Spotting for the equipment operator while digging ditches and uncovering existing utility lines
Running errands
Training for plastic fusion of pipelines
Job Requirements:\
High School graduate
Must have a valid Class A CDL before the first day of work and obtain a Tankers Endorsement.
A safe driving record is a requirement
Ability to walk long distances over rough terrain required
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds required
Ability to climb in and out of excavations of up to 12 feet deep while carrying 25 pounds required
Ability to work in all types of inclement weather (heat, cold, rain, etc.) required
Must pass a job specific physical examination and drug screen as administered by designated company clinic.

The position is covered under the D.O.T. regulations and Summit Utilities Drug and Alcohol Policy and is, therefore, subject to all terms of the Policy, including the random selection for drug testing.
