Summary About the Position: This is a Multimedia Information Specialist, GS-1001-12, position with the Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DOTD), located at Fort Novosel, AL. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 3 years position. It is time limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. Responsibilities Develops prototypes, designs, and produces final graphics for posters, brochures, and various other print media. Creates graphics, images, illustrations, and animation for incorporation into web productions for worldwide access and dissemination. Takes abstract concepts and highly technical content that often has no precedent, for use in video productions, visual presentations, and virtual events. Ensures quality control, timely delivery, and the most efficient cost method to produce the final product that meets agreed upon schedules/ expectations, adds value, and visually and verbally expresses ideas that are both distinctive and innovative. Establishes and maintains a variety of professional contacts at higher headquarters to plan, develop, and recommend solutions to training related problems through the functions and capabilities of multimedia education and technology. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes producing educationally effective curriculum/products for an organization using multimedia development visual material such as presentation graphics, video media, and animation utilizing advanced technology software or courseware for 3-D modeling; emphasis on 3D modeling/imaging practical application. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
