Description
Internally known as a Technician, Senior, this position is responsible for implementing, supporting, and the administration of Lee County Utilities SCADA systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, Industrial Communications, WAN/LAN Network and Security systems. Incumbent develops, maintains, troubleshoots, and supports the process automation systems within the water and wastewater industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include PLC code programming, instrumentation configuration, developing, supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting a large variety of software and hardware installations in the areas of SCADA, Security, WAN/LAN Network and Server Administration, Industrial Communications, and Electrical and Electronic Relay-Logic Control Panels.
Incumbent maintains reports, logs, and summaries of daily activities.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and four years related experience in automation and controls of water and wastewater plants or a closely related field.
Skills and/or knowledge of codes and standards relevant to the automation and control systems in a utilities environment is required.
Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
Supplemental Information
Advanced level of certification or college coursework specific to the job is preferred.
Experience in Programming & Instrumentation preferred.
Considerable knowledge of engineering concepts.
Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
Ability to communicate; verbally and in written form.
Customer service skills are a must.
Work days and hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Weekends and extended hours may be required, as this position serves in an on-call rotation.
