Army Installation Management Command Recreation Aid (Lifeguard) NF-01 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

Summary This position is located at Fort Leonard Wood Aquatics. Bi-weekly reviews and lists will be sent to management starting 25 APRIL 2024; additional lists may be sent at management request. Responsibilities Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager. Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests. Responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance. Provides maximum pool area surveillance, responds to emergencies; rescues pool patrons and administers first aid. Provides information to swimmers regarding safety/health/admission rules and procedures. Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training or assisting with American Red Cross swim lesson. Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed. Lifeguards will participate in required training. Assists in maintaining pool, and area clean and free from any hazards. Performs periodic water tests and reports results to the pool leader on duty. Maintains daily logs, reports and records as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must possess (or acquired prior to expected start date 2 May 2024) and maintain ALL the following certifications: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS). American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional. CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid. All certificates, or proof of enrollment for training certification, must be submitted at time of application. The information provided on your resume should be clear and specific. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
