JANUS Research Group, Inc. Senior Database Administrator in Fort Eustis, Virginia

JANUS Research Group is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Senior Database Administrator to support the Architecture Integration and Management Division (AIMD), an element of the Futures Integration Directorate (FID) reporting to the Army Futures Commands (AFC) Futures and Concepts Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Must have previous experience in testing, evaluating, and preparing MS SQL and My SQL systems for security certification under National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and/or RMF for IS guidance.

  • Will perform the IAT Level II functions described in 8570.01

  • Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of complex databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods

  • Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, and integration of systems through database design

  • Competent to work at all phases of database management

Experience/Skills:

  • 10+ years experience with a BA/BS degree or 12+ years experience with no degree

  • Must have previous experience in testing, evaluating, and preparing databases for security certification under NIST and RMF for IS guidance.

  • Must have at least 7 years of experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting Windows and Linux deployed databases

  • Maintain local database server, implemented upgrades, patches, and manages physical and logical system access

  • Work as part of a large multi-disciplined team

  • Ability to monitor the progress of multiple concurrent and highly visible projects and requirements

  • Ability to analyze issues and take required corrective actions

  • Skilled at-risk identification and mitigation

  • Have experience working with the United States military is highly desired.

Certifications:Must meet DoDD 8570.01 certification requirements for IAT Level II baseline (Security+ and computing environment certifications)

Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
