       Student Services Liaison (Non Certified) - 1 year position Supervisor: Cooper Principal Contract Length: 195 day contract - 2024-2025 year onlyJob Classification: Professional Support FLSA Status: Exempt Job SummaryTo assist in providing student services, the maintenance of attendance, and disciplinary records at the Elementary level. Essential Duties

  • Assists in articulating and promoting high expectation for teaching and student learning.

  • Develops and revises as needed or as directed by his/her supervisor his/her own professional development plan for continued improved performance.

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders in the operation of the school.

  • Addresses problems in a timely manner.

  • Works to assure the school plant, equipment, and support systems operate safely, efficiently, and effectively.

  • Assists in the implementation of an effective program of student management

  • Promotes and supports parent/student/community involvement in the school.

  • Connects students and families to the health, human and social services they need to stay focused on learning.

  • Demonstrates ethical, trustworthy, and professional behavior.

  • Demonstrates values, beliefs, and attitudes that inspire others to higher levels of performance.

  • Treats people fairly, equitably, and with dignity and respect.

  • Applies policies and procedures in a fair and equitable manner.

  • Knows and supports the building/district school improvement plan and accurately interprets and reports progress on goals.

  • Works closely with district student information management personnel to provide building administrators with student information/data in formats they desire.

  • Enforces the district’s attendance policy:

  • Addressing disciplinary issues regarding truancy, tardiness, unexcused absences, etc.

  • Communicating with students and parents concerning absences. Generating and disseminating attendance letters, phone calls, home visits, etc.

  • Enlisting the county attorney’s office when necessary, to address truancy issues.

  • Assists in investigating student disciplinary matters.

  • Addresses minor student disciplinary matters when administrators are not available or are otherwise engaged.

    Qualifications

  • Skilled in the use of relational database/student management system and spreadsheet software to maintain, organize, analyze and present student data.

  • BA or BS degree, preferably in the area of social work, counseling or secondary education

Physical Demands and Working ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee could be exposed to hitting, throwing objects, screaming, While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, instruct, use interpersonal skills which include demonstrating effective oral and written communication skills and must follow verbal and written instructions. The employee must diffuse volatile situations and negotiate. The employee is frequently required to compare, copy, coordinate, compute and evaluate. The employee is occasionally required to analyze, synthesize and compile. Ability to employ high levels of patience, compassion and understanding, yet remain fair, consistent and firm with discipline. This individual must possess basic English and mathematics skills.
