Description of Work Unit

Colorado State University is located in Fort Collins, a city of 151,000. Located 65 miles north of Denver, the city is nestled against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and alongside the banks of the Cache La Poudre River. Fort Collins offers the convenience of a small town with the amenities of a larger city including a strong public school system, various recreational opportunities, cultural offerings, and dining venues. The College of Liberal Arts ( CLA ) is a community of arts, humanities, and social science scholars who study the cultural, social, environmental, and historical context in which we live, and examine what it means to be human. CLA students and faculty share a commitment to the well-being of the human community, the natural environment in which we live, and to the inspiration of the human spirit. Through our research and scholarship, we add to the world’s body of knowledge and artistry. This provides a comprehensive liberal arts education so that students can navigate their individual and communal paths through the human experience. The CLA serves over 6,400 undergraduate students and more than 500 graduate students with over 300 faculty members. There are now more than 50,000 Colorado State University CLA alumni all across the globe.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in a Liberal Arts field

  • Experience teaching at the college level

  • A promising record of creative activity, scholarship, and/or intellectual contributions to the university community

  • Experience managing an academic program or initiative.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in teaching in an interdisciplinary environment
