Overview:A REFRIGERATION LEAD PERSON is a professional responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems in various settings. They handle tasks like adjusting system controls, documenting refrigerant handling, and operating computer systems to receive and dispense information. They also maintain and repair all types of refrigeration systems, including ammonia systems and conventional refrigeration units. They also perform preventive maintenance on industrial refrigeration and air conditioning components as required by manufacturer standards. They are involved in PSM documentation and compliance as it relates to employee participation, PSI accuracy, mechanical integrity, and training.
Job Description:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be the technical lead in relation to the assigned location and equipment.
Assist the Utilities Supervisor in the Management of Change process for PSM.
Conduct safety meetings and PSM meetings as assigned.
Review all PM’s completed by technicians and design work packages in CWOs for temporary and permanent correction.
Check inventory to make sure parts are standard and well-kept to maintain equipment.
Track technicians’ performance in Oracle to ensure PM’s and CWO’s are completed weekly to average 95%.
Send out shift reports by email daily to keep everyone apprised on plant performance.
Peruse your area of responsibility once a week with supervisor to track performance on equipment and look for opportunities to improve conditions. Add these to the 5-year plan.
Rebuild all equipment associated to the location per manufacturer recommendation.
Work with supervisor to create weekend work list.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Employee is required to work in cold, damp environment.
Must have basic oral and written communication skills
Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch
Ability to lift and move 50-75 pounds (with assistance, when required)
