Position Summary

The ITSM Analyst II at South Jersey Industries will ensure the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures in alignment with best practices and industry standards. The successful candidate will have a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring that IT Service Management policies and procedures are aligned with the latest industry standards. This team member will primarily execute, monitor, and enforce compliance with ITSM practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align procedures with ServiceNow platform capabilities. The ITSM Analyst II will play a pivotal role in maintaining efficient IT services and driving continual improvement within South Jersey Industries.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform research on industry best practices; design, implement, and enhance processes relating to the focus area (Incident, Request, Knowledge, Change, Problem, etc.), ensuring that established policies and procedures align with industry best practices and standards

  • Establish and maintain documentation of procedures and processes concerning ITSM

  • Execute and monitor policies and procedures to ensure adherence to best practices in ITSM

  • Enforce compliance with ITSM standards and drive corrective actions where necessary

  • Collaborate with the ServiceNow team to align procedures with the capabilities and functionalities of the platform

  • Develop and implement KPIs, metrics and standardized reporting to ensure process efficiency; apply a continuous improvement approach in enhancing policies to reflect evolving ITSM methodologies and compliance requirements

  • Conduct comprehensive compliance checks to ensure adherence to established policies and best practices

  • Provide insights and develop automation opportunities to optimize ServiceNow workflows and configurations aligned with ITSM best practices

Qualifications

Required Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, with 2 years of relevant IT Service Management experience; or Master’s degree with 0 years of relevant experience

  • Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree

  • ITILv4 certification

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with and in-depth knowledge of best practice ITSM Incident, Request, Knowledge, Change, Problem, with a focus on policy implementation and maintenance

  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and its application in ITSM

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess compliance and identify areas for enhancement

  • Ability to adapt to changing IT landscapes and innovative approaches in ITSM

  • Proven success performing multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Strong ability to carry out assigned tasks independently with little supervision
