WestRock Company Process Engineer in Florence, South Carolina
SUMMARY:
This role provides support by recommending and implementing modifications to the process to optimize production, improve quality, and reduce cost. In addition, this role has the primary responsibility for developing into the role of Production Supervisor who will manage safety, reliability, cost, quality, productivity, and employee engagement in a goal-oriented environment.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT WESTROCK:
Administers and model’s safety in his/her area of responsibility. Participates in and supports the safety programs for the maintenance department. Reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance employees. Ensures compliance will all applicable OSHA and mill safety
Ensures compliance with all environmental rules and policies
Makes sound decisions and communicates clear instructions, driving excellence within the process
Develops an understanding of systems and structures used by the team (includes knowledge of current standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides)
Fully focused and engaged in all aspects of designated responsibility, creating a culture of self-sustaining engagement throughout the department
Excellent, and demonstrated, analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated history of Quality-Driven Decisions

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
2+ years Paper Mill experience preferred (combination of full-time experience and internships / Co-Ops)
Engineering or Paper Science degree preferred
Process Engineering experience a plus
Computer working knowledge such as Microsoft Office Suite, PI Processbook, JD Edwards, etc.
