Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant will provide general administrative, event, and business support to the department of Recreational Services. This position reports to the Director of Recreational Services and supports all staff within the unit.
Responsibilities*
Administrative Responsibilities:
Support and assist program manager with membership operations, including membership and locker sales, guest passes, and Mcard printing, as needed.
Assist with submitting and reviewing of temporary employee payroll.
Communicate with campus partners for support needs.
Provide support with onboarding and training temporary employees.
Assist with updating of employee handbook and monitoring employee point system.
Provide backup admin support for Student Health & Wellness units.
General office management and additional duties as assigned.
Business Operations:
Regularly review financial statements and accounts for reconciliation.
Request purchase requisitions, assist with travel arrangements, and pay invoices.
Responsible for daily cash deposits and following proper University cash handling protocols and procedures.
Manage sponsorship program and associated invoicing.
Assist in budget preparation and preparing cost estimates for budget recommendation and approval.
Investigate, document, and respond to patron concerns.
Event Support:
Assist with planning and implementation of regular in-service meetings and trainings for temporary staff.
Enter event and facility data into applicable sites and systems; maintain department web page content.
Coordinating with vendors for rental and purchase of materials for events and trainings.
Required Qualifications*
High School Diploma or equivalent
(4) or more years of relevant administrative support experience
Customer service experience
Able to maintain confidentiality in all communications and data handling
Experience with budget and financial transactions

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
