Position Summary
As a Business Systems Analyst within the Corporate Functions IT – Risk Management team, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure and add value to various risk management related functions within MPC, including our Enterprise Risk Management, Audit Assurance & Advisory Services, SOX, and Compliance functions. Other focused areas of risk within larger MPC functions are also in scope for the IT Risk Management team and include areas such as credit risk evaluation, commercial compliance, and centralized organizational and financial, policy-driven authority management. The team operates in a cross-functional manner leveraging an agile methodology for work management.
This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Manages the definition of business processes in order to measure, analyze, improve and control the process being effectively reviewed with senior management, IT and its business partners.
Communicates effectively with stakeholders, aligning the understanding of requirements, and identifying cross functional changes/impacts of the specifications for solution delivery. Leads business partner meetings with development teams to communicate with senior management the execution of cross functional complex processes and applications. Maintaining business unit specific roadmaps as a requirement to provide insight into future value opportunities.
Develops recommendations for appropriate system alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems, driving value through efficiency gains, financial impacts, and risk management opportunities.
Investigates business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning; applies continuous iterative processes.
Performs cost benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
Generates value-add ideas and business process improvements to further both business partners and technology.
Supports monitoring the execution of IT service management practices around incident, Change, Problem and Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) delivery methodologies for improvement and collaboration, including more advanced configuration tasks.
Leads the development, execution, and creation of the cross functional testing strategy communicating with all stakeholders for technology delivery, including test case development and execution in support of technology delivery.
Plans, executes, and documents user stories, user feedback to support the development of prototypes and wireframes. Leads these activities with agile practices, driving maturity in those practices.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems preferred, related field or equivalent experience.
2+ years of relevant IT experience required
Experience with SOX controls preferred
Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) or Audit Management Systems (AMS) preferred.
Experience with testing management and defect management preferred.
Experience with ServiceNow preferred.
Experience with SAFe6 methodology and AzureDevOps from a tooling perspective preferred.

Continuous Improvement Mindset - An ongoing effort to evaluate and improve products, services, or processes through incremental and breakthrough improvements.
Incident Management – Ensuring that any incidents affecting processes and performances of relevant technology services or systems are managed appropriately to mitigate risk and minimize disruption.
