Eaton Corporation Engineering Supervisor in Fayetteville, North Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Engineering Supervisor. The position is located at our facility in Fayetteville, NC. Relocation offered to candidates who resides in the U.S and outside 50 miles of facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

This role will provide direct supervision of Eaton Fayetteville’s Motor Control Center (MCC) Customer Order Designers (COD). The COD team is responsible for the mechanical and electrical design of motor control centers, inclusive of mechanical & electrical drawings, schematic and wiring diagrams, detailed bills of materials and review of automated system outputs. In addition, the team is the gatekeeper for manufacturing change order management, ensuring that as built documentation packages represent the final shipped product. As the supervisor of the COD department, it is expected that the incumbent can perform the essential functions of the COD role and provide technical guidance to the team members. In addition the supervisor is responsible for maintaining schedule adherence, finding creative and efficient means to meet production release rate expectations.

The COD team is a part of our Front End Operations team and partners with customer order engineers, maintenance of line and the division sales engineering teams to interpret customer specific order requirements into manufacturing specifications for Eaton’s MCC manufacturing and assembly operations. There is regular interaction with the manufacturing and supply chain operations in support of this effort, as well as internal and external customers.

What you'll Do:

  • Plan and direct the front-end COD team.

  • Remain knowledgeable of required personnel-related policies and procedures.

  • Correct employee actions or behavior to ensure adherence with policies, etc

  • Maintain a safe working environment

  • Prepare complex mechanical layout drawings, including details, and required three-dimensional views to ensure proper fit before manufacturing fabricates the piece or assembly.

  • Lead drafting and support efforts in the plant, including division-drafting standards, drafting systems, and drawing formats.

  • Prepare complex layouts, control diagrams, sketches and drawings relating to new and modified equipment specifications, as well as from customer engineering interpretation to the general order.

  • Prepare necessary information to ensure efficient and timely material procurement, manufacturing testing, and installation of assemblies.

  • Compile data required for project assignments and develop specifications, reports, and other related written documents as required.

  • Maintain contact with manufacturing personnel to review and discuss drawings, modifications, and progress of work relating to the design and manufacture of equipment.

  • Assist and train engineers, designers and technicians in all aspects of mechanical and electrical drafting and engineering techniques, product applications and systems; recommend technical methods or approaches for these personnel in order to increase their overall quality, timeliness, and productivity.

  • Perform customer order engineering or drafting. Analyze and interpret customer inquiries relating to assemblies, preparing manufacturing information for production.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • Four (4)+ years electrical engineering, designing or drafting in a manufacturing environment

  • One (1)+ years experience managing projects

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university

  • Three (3) years managing people

  • Project management experience involving engineered to order products in a manufacturing environment.

Skills:

  • Must be able to travel as necessary to effectively interface with customers and other required contacts, to work at various outside/inside site locations, and to manage or participate in company-related projects, activities, or other job-related assignments.

  • Ability to lead complex strategic projects associated with Lean Manufacturing, Cost Out initiatives, Supplier Development and prepare or lead efforts to design complex mechanical or electrical drawings or some combination of these in a complex, engineered to order manufacturing (ETO) manufacturing environment.
