Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Bulldozer/Excavator Operators and Articulated Haul Truck Operators to join our team for a new solar farm project. Operators will perform mass grading, clear land, build pads, excavate basins, and transport dirt across the site.

Responsibilities

• Operate bulldozers and excavators to perform mass grading, clear land, build pads, and excavate basins.

• Load and carry dirt using articulated haul trucks from one area of the project to another.

• Ensure precise fine grading using bulldozers and excavators.

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including OSHA regulations.

• Collaborate with laborers on site to ensure efficient project execution.

• Maintain equipment and perform routine inspections to ensure operational safety.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience operating bulldozers or excavators.

• 3+ years of experience using articulated dump trucks.

• Proficiency in fine grading with bulldozers and excavators.

• 3rd party certifications for bulldozer/excavator or articulated haul truck operation.

• Strong safety awareness and knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Solar project experience is a plus.

• Ability to work significant overtime and weekends as needed.

• Reliability and excellent attendance are crucial.

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Work Environment

Work on multiple civil closeout sites in a new construction environment. Exposure to elements, including hot and humid conditions in the summer. Work schedule includes 50-hour weeks from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM with lunch and short breaks. Operate equipment on site and adhere to strict safety protocols. Wear appropriate PPE including hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, reflective vest, and gloves. Safety is paramount, and compliance with safety standards is mandatory.

This is a Contract position based out of Farnham, Virginia.
