Comerica Commercial Loan Data and Quality Control Manager in Farmington, Michigan

Commercial Loan Quality Control and Data Manager This position will lead Lending and Trade Service's Data Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices to ensure commercial lending origination and servicing data is accurate, complete, and adheres to regulatory compliance standards. Additionally, this position will be responsible for monitoring quality trends for continual improvement of process, procedures, and controls. The managed teams are dedicated to ensuring accuracy and completeness of data for the commercial lending portfolio including but not limited to bilateral loans, loan participations, loan syndications, equipment leasing, dealer loans, SBA, and related transactions. Job Responsibilities: Operations Management * Responsible for proactively monitoring origination and servicing transactions to ensure alignment with the requested action, credit approval, loan documentation, and bank standards. * Develop and attain service level, accuracy, and quality metric objectives. * Track and report department's performance against expectations and standards. * Responsible for creating and enforcing operational process to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions. * Organize workload to ensure timely and accurate completion of responsibilities of assigned team(s). * Responding to customer inquiries in a timely, courteous, and informative manner. * Ensure Commercial Lending information in CORE servicing and accounting system is entered and available within established SLAs and in accordance with approved standards, policies, and procedures. * Provide detailed, actionable feedback that can be used to improve quality outcomes and mitigate risk for the department. Strategy and Roadmap Management * Develop and manage the Loan & Lease QC strategy based on supporting facts & metrics that are presented in a business context to drive improvements in the control environment. * Developing end-to-end remediation strategies to ensure end-to-end data accuracy and quality. * Engages and communicates with Executive and Senior Management, external auditors, and regulators. * Ensures alignment with Data Management policies and practices as set forth by the Bank. * Drives corporate data improvement initiatives in coordination with the Bank's Data Management office. Financial Management * Manager areas of responsibilities within parameters of established financial plan. Control expenses in accordance with annual budget, including minimizing or eliminating losses. Risk Mgmt & Compliance * Conduct and monitor quality control reviews, data integrity reviews (including HMDA and regression reporting), collateral document reviews and CRA audits and reporting results. * Identify, correct, track and report compliance related errors & trends with potential for non-compliance with regulatory requirements including but not limited HMDA, CRA, Fair Lending, SBA, Borrower in Custody, and FHLB. * Responsible for developing and implementing, accessing, and monitoring processes and procedures within the department to reduce the bank's exposure to operational risk. * Engage with Internal and External Auditors & Examiners on topics related to Commercial Lending Data Quality and Controls. * Oversee Commercial Lending data quality scorecard standards with DMO and department actions required to meet/exceed standards. HR Management * Lead QC and Data education plans, training, and maintains a supportive and productive department culture. * Responsible for hiring, corrective action process. * Performance Management Process, promotions, and separation process. * Establish and monitor SLAs for performance and quality. * Establish appropriate PMPs and development plans for staff including career-path discussions and recommendations. * Conduct semi-annual and annual performance reviews for staff. * Conduct staff meetings and one-on-one meetings; Leverage all opportunities for employee recognition. * Handle the hiring, coaching, developing, and supervision of non-exempt production, servicing, and administrative support staff. * Other duties as assigned.
