Farmingdale State College Adjunct Instructor - English for International Students (LIEOC) in Farmingdale, New York

The LIEOC at Farmingdale State College periodically seeks experienced instructors to teach ESOL courses to pre-beginning, intermediate, and advanced level adult learners at locations across the island including, but not limited to Farmingdale, Brentwood, Hicksville, Wyandanch, North Babylon, Longwood, and Patchogue. Classes are offered on various days of the week on both morning and evening schedules in both in person and online modalities. Successful candidates will be experienced and adept at teaching reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar at all levels to adult ESL students. Applicants will be contacted when positions meeting their qualifications become available.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in TESL/TEFL or a related field
At least three years of experience teaching ESL/ENL
Strong written and communication skills
Willingness to teach mornings or evenings
Ability to teach in person and online
Experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Philosophy of education appropriate for the adult learner
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctoral Degree in Higher Education, Adult Education, TESL/TEFL, Applied Linguistics or a related field
At least five years of experience teaching ESL/ENL in adult education, higher education, and/or IEP settings
Knowledge of D2L Brightspace and Banner
Experience using online platforms/instructional technology
Knowledge of TABE Clas-E testing
Proficiency in more than one language
