Works from specifications, drawing, prints and welding symbols Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or clamps parts together Weld a variety alloys using both gas welding and any combination of arc welding processes Select torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal Connect regulator valves and hoses to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders and welding torch Turn regulator valves to activate flow of gases, light torch and adjust gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame Hold torch at proper angle to metal and guides along weld joint, applying filler rod to molten area to form weld Examine weld for bead size and other specifications Repair broken or cracked metal objects, fill holes and build up metal parts Work includes component and structure application Requires ability to plan, layout and perform diversified work Works from specifications, drawings, prints and welding symbols May involve welding where appearance is important Can include coating drain pans and assembly of component parts Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean work area Follow and understand HOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards Read and interpret blue prints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License All other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Ability to operate hand tools Ability to read and understand written English Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Previous manufacturing experience Daikin Applied Americas Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from minorities, woman, the disabled, protected veterans, and other qualified applicants.
