Summary THIS IS A ND NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. Military membership is NOT required. This ND National Guard position is for a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5801900 and is part of the ND 119 Logistics Readiness Squadron, National Guard. Responsibilities The primary purpose of this position is to provide centralized oversight of critical squadron programs. Measures LRS processes through inventory analysis, surveillance, trends and standards, develops and writes local policy/procedures and performs over the shoulder inspections. Also responsible for all funds management functions including satellite stock fund management in support of unit mission. Performs analysis on a wide range of technical squadron functions by analyzing historical and current data and identifying deficiencies or potential problems during surveillances or staff assistance visits. Develops, coordinates, and publishes local supplements and makes recommendations to assist in the development of major command (MAJCOM) supplements to Air Force (AF) manuals and instructions applying to the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS). Manages the General Support Division (GSD) and monitors the Material Support Division (MSD) of the Air Force Supply Management Activity Group (SMAG) at base level. Analyzes and forecasts financial data to the Wing Finance function, Financial Management Board, and Maintenance Group regarding impact of Stock Number User Directory (SNUD) price changes that affect obligations. Scrutinizes the operations of all Logistics Readiness Squadron functions by conducting internal surveillances. Serves as the Resource Advisor for the LRS. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications PCS STATEMENT: PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems. In addition to the general experience, applicants are required to meet the specialized experience by means of one of the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year of specialized experience at the GS 07 level which includes: 1) Work experience dealing with cost estimates, budgets, or funding management; 2) Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; 3) Reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; 4) Provide supply operations support for supply activities; 5) Conduct surveillance visits and special analysis of all supply elements to ensure compliance with directives and procedures; and 6) Experience working in Logistics Evaluation Assurance Program (LEAP), Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT), Inspector General Evaluation Management System (IGEMS) programs. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirement is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. Part-time or unpaid experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment. Education If using education to substitute for specialized experience, you must provide transcripts to receive credit.
