Defense Health Agency Exercise Analyst in Falls Church, Virginia

Summary About the Position: The mission of the DHA is to serve as a Combat Support Agency (CSA) and lead the MHS integration of readiness and health to deliver the Quadruple Aim: improved readiness, better health, better care, and lower cost. The DHA Headquarters is geographically located in Falls Church, Virginia. Note: Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Responsibilities Support complex studies requiring application of advanced analytical and statistical methods and techniques, often involving interrelated issues to include exercise training objectives. Assist in the development and publication of annual mutually acceptable three-year Joint Training Plan (JTP) and associated annual budget which identifies DHA’s long-range exercise objectives. Ensure DHA adherence to overarching policy, regulations, and statutes to ensure compliance during the development and execution of exercises. Participate in and maintains situational awareness of Joint Event Lifecycle (JELC) events and schedules to enhance the DHA's ability to provide exercise support as required. Possess knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships which aids in proper development and coordination of products (e.g., exercise directives) and networking with inter/extra-agency partners. Develop training programs, manage training activities, and build policy recommendations for operations training programs for functional area training managers. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conduct technical analysis to develop plans for evaluation of effectiveness, assisting in the development of operations training programs, and monitor policy adherence to ensure program compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Strategic Thinking Training and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
