Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker, or Downstream Technician (DST), plays a crucial role in assisting the line operator with the production of plastic drainage pipes. Operating an extruder machine, which produces 90 feet of pipe per minute, the DST must efficiently manage the rapidly produced pipes as they are wound onto a drum. The role involves tying up half-full bails to prevent unraveling during installation in the fields, maintaining composure and task focus even when the pace intensifies and the pipes accumulate on the floor. The DST also handles the final tie-off and repositioning of the bail for forklift collection. Typically, two DSTs work per line to manage these tasks effectively.
