Aerotek Machine Operator in Export, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and mechanically inclined Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have industrial or manufacturing experience, a strong attendance record, and the ability to work on their feet for the entire shift. The Machine Operator will be responsible for running up to three extrusion lines, changing tooling, completing paperwork, adding shipping labels, and operating a forklift. This position offers thorough training and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tool changes and die cleaning as needed.

  • Grade own rejects and stack profiles on carts or bundle in boxes.

  • Ensure profiles are properly stacked or packaged.

  • Verify piece counts for carts and boxes.

  • Monitor extrusion rates and profile configurations.

  • Maintain a supply of compound staged at the machine.

  • Assist in moving carts when necessary.

  • Clean profiles as required.

  • Work in the tool honing department, cleaning and refinishing used tooling for reuse or repair.

Essential Skills

  • Verified strong attendance record.

  • Mechanically inclined with industrial or manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to work on feet for the entire shift.

  • Flexibility to work multiple shift times.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Experience with machine operation, production, hand tools, assembly, general labor, and inspection.

Work Environment

The work environment is an enclosed manufacturing facility that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, with heaters provided during colder months but no climate control. We are hiring for all three shifts: 8 AM to 4 PM, 4 PM to 12 AM, and 12 AM to 8 AM. The facility operates seven days a week with shifts typically consisting of five days on and two days off. The building is fairly clean and warm, typical for a manufacturing setting. Safety is our number one priority.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Export, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.35 - $18.60/hr.
