Our Non-Profit client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing audits, budgeting processes, and advanced Excel skills to support our financial operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and contributing to the overall financial health of our organization.

Audit Management:

• Coordinate and manage annual external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.

• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

• Implement audit recommendations and improve internal controls.

Budgeting:

• Assist in the development and management of the annual budget, including collaborating with various departments to gather and analyze financial data.

• Monitor budget performance and provide regular reports and analysis to management.

• Advise on budget adjustments and financial planning strategies.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

• Present financial information to senior management and the board of directors as needed.

Accounting Operations:

• Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure accurate and complete recording of all financial transactions.

• Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations.

Excel and Data Management:

• Utilize advanced Excel skills to develop complex financial models, forecasts, and analytical tools.

• Maintain and improve financial databases and spreadsheets to support data-driven decision-making.

Work Schedule:

• Flexible part-time schedule of 20 hours per week. Specific days and times can be negotiated to fit both the candidate’s and the organization’s needs.

  Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on non-profit organizations.

• Proven experience managing audits and budgeting processes.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manipulate complex spreadsheets and financial models.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting principles.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
