ShelterCare Receptionist (Part-Time) (Administration) in Eugene, Oregon

ShelterCare's Administration Program of Eugene, OR is seeking to hire a part-time Receptionist to provide the necessary administrative support for our Administration and the outpatient mental health services at 499 W. 4th Ave. Our Administration program provides the background work in such areas as Accounting and office administration to best support our direct care programs and, through them, our consumers.

The Receptionist earns a competitive wage of $16.67 - $17.11/hr . This is a non-exempt, hourly position. This is a part-time position for 22.5 hours a week.

  • Up to 144 hours during the first 12 months for employees working 40 hours a week. Prorated for employees working less than 40 hours a week.

    A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A RECEPTIONIST (PART-TIME)

    As a Receptionist, you serve as the first point of contact for ShelterCare's Administrative headquarters and Outpatient Mental Health Services. You will assist Administration by helping to ensure the smooth operation of initial communications with ShelterCare, processing mail and completing other duties as assigned. You will utilize the Electronic Medical Record to help check in Behavioral Health clients for appointments and answer ShelterCare's main phone line, including calls from community members looking to access services.

    You will daily interact, both in person and over the phone, with adults who are homeless and/or have a mental illness . The Receptionist represents the agency and will need to be able to stay calm even in crisis situations. You will frequently be switching from phone conversations to in-person requests from visiting clients to office tasks throughout the day. As a Receptionist, you'll love being able to make a difference in the lives of those you serve!

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

    • Minimum of two years' office administration experience

    • Strong and respectful communication skills

    • Must be comfortable working with clients with a severe and persistent mental illness

    • Excellent skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive

    • Ability to multi-task, work independently or with a team and problem solve

    • Ability to successfully pass a DHS background check

    Preferred

    • Experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness strongly preferred

    • Strong organizational skills

    WORK SCHEDULE

    The schedule for this part-time position is Monday - Friday, 12:30pm - 5:00pm.
