Emerson Project Buyer LATAM in ESTADO DE MEXICO, Mexico

Position Summary

Coordinates the procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization across the Latin America region, providing shared services to the PMO Team, Trade Compliance Team, Logistics Team, Finance Team, and others. Analyzes the Bill of Materials (BOM) for project requirements, coordinates equipment with the Project Management Team and QP&S Team, and sets quotes based on analysis to resolve the best supply options considering project commitments.

Job Functions / Responsibilities:

Collaborate to align procurement activities with project schedules.

Negotiate favorable terms, prices, and delivery schedules with vendors to meet project requirements.

Purchase intercompany supplies for assigned projects, adhering to procurement protocols.

Process vendor returns efficiently to minimize disruptions to project timelines.

Liaise with plant teams to coordinate deliveries and ensure timely receipt of supplies.

Collaborate with the order entry team to ensure timely processing of purchases.

Work with accounts payable to resolve any discrepancies or invoice disputes promptly.

Coordinate with Project Managers and order entry analysts to ensure accurate and timely submission of information for intercompany purchase orders.

Partner bring together project documentation, including drawings, procedures, and data sheets, to facilitate customer approval.

Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards in all procurement activities.

Requirements:

Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Confirmed experience in procurement, negotiation, or project coordination roles.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate optimally across teams.

Thorough approach with a focus on efficiency and timeliness.

Job Function Professional Degree Requirements

Bachelor’s: Business, Logistics, Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, etc.)

2-4 years of purchasing experience for external candidates; 2-4 years for internal candidates

1-2 years of project-related experience preferred

Excellent oral and written communication skills

High level of math and analytical skills

80% proficiency in English

Experience Requirements

2+ years’ experience with purchasing, materials, inventory, stockroom, warehouse processes, preferably within the automotive industry

Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of sourcing and vendor relationship management

Ability to use and interpret data for purchasing needs.

Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Plex, and other business software

Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with team members, leadership, and vendors

Strict attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently

Capability to work with minimal direction

Technical Knowledge Requirements

Proficiency in procurement and inventory management

Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, castings, additive manufacturing, etc.)

Project management follow-up and collaboration

Cost analysis

Logistics and international trade

Knowledge of Oracle ERP system (desirable)
