Emerson Buyer Planner in ESTADO DE MEXICO, Mexico

Description: We're seeking a driven individual to join our team as a Materials Procurement Specialist. In this role, you'll be responsible for the planning, procurement, and acquisition of materials and components crucial for valve production. Collaborating both internally with our materials department and externally with global suppliers, you'll ensure the availability of goods to meet the needs of our North American manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Orders Management and System Updates:

  • Apply Planner Workbench to handle orders, ensuring timely releases and reschedules to suppliers.

  • Generate and maintain purchase orders in our system (Oracle), updating crucial information such as supplier data, delivery dates, and pricing.

  • Expedite deliveries to meet client requirements and analyze and address any expired purchase orders promptly.

Relationship with Suppliers:

  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, supporting global supply chain negotiations and implementing materials strategies to improve performance.

  • Handle return goods and actively participate in procurement projects to improve processes.

  • Understand supplier performance metrics and resolve any issues efficiently.

Inventory Management:

  • Activate new parts in the system and handle product phase in/out to optimize inventory levels.

Cost Evaluation and Savings:

  • Conduct annual updates for standard cost evaluations and implement cost reduction/containment goals to drive efficiency.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other duties as assigned, supplying to the overall success of our team.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, International Business, Industrial Engineering, or related team (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Purchasing or Planning within a Manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Strong English communication skills – written, verbal, and listening.

  • Experience working in a global organization with knowledge of MRP and JIT systems.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Oracle or ERP equivalent systems preferred.

  • General understanding of International Trade principles and Lean Manufacturing concepts.

  • APICS certification desirable.
